Two working groups have been established on obesity. 

The working group on management is expected to deliver clinical guidelines for the
treatment of obesity by the end of this year. These guidelines will be
included in Practise Guidelines of the Handbook of Practise published by
our Medical Association to its members in printed and electronic versions.

The other workgroup is focusing on the prevention of obesity. The Obesity
Prevention workgroup is collaborating closely with a large network of
organisations, including the Finnish Diabetes Association and the Finnish
Heart Association. The aim is to produce a set of recommendations in the
form of a Consensus statement..
